The Glow in the Dark Terminator Toyota MR2

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 12:59 am

"Just because something cool happens daily on 1/6 of the Earth’s surface…" here is one cool and pimped stuff for all of you guys.

Pictures posted at English Russia (englishrussia.com) shows a unique and artistic work of a Russian in a car, specifically in a Toyota MR2 sports car. Now if you seen the movie Terminator, right now you have already noticed that the art work featured in the car shown above is one of the robotic villains in the film. Pretty cool huh? Not only that, the paint used in the MR2 actually glows in the dark. Check out the image below for the evidence.

So if you are a Russian guy with interest in glow in the dark paint and your favorite movie is the first installment of the Terminator movie, you might also come up with this impressive art work.

Make Way for the Fantasticar!

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 4:42 am

Did you know that the high flying vehicle that can reach 30,000 feet of altitude and throttled with a speed of 550 mph that will be featured in the film Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is a Dodge model? Now you know.

The car was called the Fantasticar, which features a HEMI engine (yes! a HEMI!) under its sleek hood. Other features of the car include deployable wings, along with other Dodge signature design cues including Dodge signature crosshair grille, Dodge red ram logo on the front and rear fascia, and Dodge red ram logo in the seat headrests. I wonder if this vehicle also features Edelbrock carburetor.

Michael Curmi, Senior Manager – Entertainment Marketing, Chrysler Group commented:
"Opportunities to be involved with the cultural icon like the Fantasticar don’t come around very often, so we jumped at the chance to work with Marvel Comics and 20th Century Fox. Dodge is a great American car brand teaming up with a great American superhero team. We both have great heritage that appeal to people around the world, so it was only natural for us to partner on this new Fantastic Four movie with the debut of the ultimate superheroes vehicle."

If you have been in cinemas lately, for sure you have already seen the marketing ads for the film featuring the Fantasticar. Anyway, you can see this unique vehicle model starting in June 15th aboard the film’s four main characters namely Mr. Fantastic (Reed Richards), The Invisible Woman (Susan Richards), The Human Torch (Johnny Storm), and The Thing (Ben Grimm).

"The Dodge brand is always looking forward to new bold design directions, so it is inspiring to see the Fantasticar with the Dodge brand’s signature crosshair grille and Ram’s head logo in a completely futuristic vehicle. We hope people around the world have as much fun watching the Fantasticar as Dodge Marketing is having promoting the out-of-this-world vehicle." said Mark Spencer, Senior Manager – Dodge Brand Communications, Chrysler Group.

Call of the Future: The Solar Car

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 7:38 am

Now all you have to do to get this car running is to leave it under the sun.

With all the pain in the neck gas prices are bringing, wouldn’t it be nice to have a cae that didn’t need to be filled up at the gas station? Of course you’ll always have to concern yourself with seeing that all parts like Mercedes valve cover are in good shape – but that’s all – because this car won’t need fuel. Enter the Solar Car.

A solar car is an electric vehicle powered by solar energy obtained from solar panels on the surface of the car. Photovoltaic (PV) cells convert the sun’s energy directly into electrical energy.

Just like a gas tank stores gasoline in a car, solar cells on the flat part of the car turn sunlight into electricity, where a battery in the car stores the electricity. Compared to normal cars this one doesn’t make any noise - only a quiet hum. It doesn’t make any smoke or bad smells either. Nice, isn’t it?

And like normal cars, solar cars can also go racing. Yes indeed, such events are often sponsored by government agencies such as the United States Department of Energy, who are keen to promote the development of alternative energy technology (such as solar cells).

The question arises  as to whether, if battery electric vehicles become popular, it will be worthwhile fitting them with solar cells to extend their range and allowing recharge while parked anywhere in the sun.

With the present engineering considerations however, it seems that the best place for solar cells will generally be on the roofs of buildings, where they are always exposed to the sky.

And the possibility of finally getting rid of going to the gas station may finally become a reality.
