A Good Reason to Pimp a Car

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 9:20 am

My mother said there is always good in everything that happens. Well, unless you died of course, but if your car meets an accident is perhaps one of the most tormenting experience you could ever have.  You will be dealing with your car insurance company, police and everything in connection with your car. The saddest part is when you get to have all the car parts replaced like the bumper, autometer and a lot more. But if you are a big time football player like Lance Briggs, replacing these car parts may not be a good choice. Of course, if you can afford a revamp, why not, right?

The 350,000, worth Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster owned by Briggs met an accident on the highway late Sunday after he made some action for the National Football League. The football star did not abandon the scene  — take a look at that Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster worth that much, do you think someone will abandon a car like that? Imagine a car with more than 500 horsepower reaching to a maximum of 640 horsepower on a V12 engine part. It’s like a monster running on the road right? And get that 62 mph in 3.4 seconds as its speed which is the fastest car you could ever buy. No one will definitely be stupid enough to leave it in the accident scene right?

So instead of abandoning the vehicle, Briggs decided to have it pimped to a cost of $150,000. According to the shop where he brought the car, “The body panels are cracked all around, the radiator popped out and there’s heavy, heavy suspension damage.”

Now look at the new car, the shop is so proud to call it a hand made car.

Here Comes the iCar

Everyone went nuts over iPod when it was first released by Apple back in 2001. Years after Apple released the different versions of its iPod. Say, iPod Nano, iPod Shuffle, iPod Video and many more including its accessories. Apple never stopped developing new technology that earlier this year, they released the iPhone also a new phone that has it all.

But it seems like they are not yet done doing easier to navigate gadgets. I asked myself, what is there to come from Apple? Well, I wasn’t surprised finding about the news that the company is now looking to develop a new "iCar", with the help of erstwhile carmaker, Volkswagen.

It was actually planned for years that the electronic gadgets maker will make a car. It may seem to be a joke to many but in Germany, the Chief Executive Officer of Volkswagen Martin Winterkorn has been reportedly seen talking to the Chief Executive Officer of Apple Steve Jobs.

We may have to wait for some more information about this. The iPod afterall, took several years before being released. Maybe the company is making it sure that the product they made is of quality and excellence. Just like the car part ansa exhaust made by Volkswagen. If ever they are making it, the new iCar will be an icon. Imagine the iPhone which was made to almost have it all in one gadget. I guess the iCar also applies the same.

I wish this thing is pushed through. So I don’t have to get iPod and iPhone which are all availbel on the iCar. Well, I hope so.

Flower Wheels

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 1:55 am

Wouldn’t you look at that. Flowered rims?

I mean vandalism is a huge violation to street law but I guess doing something decorative and artistic is really cool.

Take a look at this car, a Porsche from Russia. According to autoblog, what you see on the car’s wheels is a form of vandalism formerly practiced by the former Soviet country; it’s a sort of an art. Obviously it was, take a look at the way it was made. It’s not even recognized as a vandal, it’s more of a design other than a simple paint job.

The sample is caught in Moscow, designed to a Type 996 Porsche 911 Carbriolet. Not all of us will want to drive around with wheels like that, but the Porsche’s owner obviously likes things flowery and he or she can do what pimping he or she likes to his or her ride.

But I got to say, those rims certainly does brighten things up.

Toyota and Sony Collaborate for a New Vehicle

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 1:29 am

We have seen Toyota collaborating with several auto makers before — just like the collaboration with Isuzu Motors to build small engines and release them in 2009. Toyota is still looking for more collaborations to push through with its planned building of more than 10 million vehicles in the next few years.

And now Toyota is doing another exciting collaboration with a famous gadget maker. You know which company I am referring to right? It’s Sony. The future partnership of Toyota and Sony will bring out a new vehicle in the market. And it’s not just any other vehicle but a single ride car. Exciting? You bet.

In 2005, Toyota revealed a concept version of the i-swing, an armchair wheels. But Toyota seems determined to turn the concept into reality — enlisting the partnership with Sony to pursue the production of the single-ride vehicle. Toyota sees Sony engineers as the most capable of doing this new type of vehicle.

Sony is renowned makers of major patent robotics and Toyota is (as everybody already know) makes the best selling vehicle models at present. Now seven engineers of Sony are working with Toyota to build the next generation project. No such thing as a Saab radiator fan on this ride, but the collaboration between the two huge Japanese companies will assure you that the car parts are made up of the best materials out there.

Toyota has developed the TPR-Robina, the newest robot on its company. The new robot is used to guide the visitors of the company around the head quarters. The new robot also has the ability to converse with the visitors and also performs several skills. However, Sony is now focusing on developing more updated technology on its electronics other than venturing to robotics.

The Mercedes Pen Car

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 2:32 am

Going for an environment-friendly car is not the only way one can contribute to the preservation of the environment. Cars can also be used in the movement to recycle garbage so instead of adding up to the millions of garbage, you can actually use some to create a new stuff, for your car. I mean take a look at the picture. The car is covered with 5,000 used writing pens covering the entire exterior parts of the car. Now who’d ever thought of that?

Anyway, who is responsible for this pimping? Costas Schuler made this Mercedes car into a new instant craze. They call it the Mercedes Pens. Isn’t that a good way to make it easier for you to write down what you have in mind just in case you are attacked by that 3-minute idea? And the good thing is that the car is an Old model of Mercedes-Benz and I guess by adding these pens on its cover make it more interesting. Plus, we know that Mercedes-Benz gets quality parts like Mercedes Benz catalytic converter so owning this care is absolutely a good idea, if you really want to stand out in the crowd.

Schuler have travel across the country. He becomes so proud that people appreciate his work of art. Well, because he used permanent pens on its cover, these pens are also bound to make permanent impression according to autoblog.com.

At first glance, the car seems to look weird but on a second look, it manages to look hot. The hood of the Mercedes car is designed with star-forming pens while the rest was covered with permanent markers on an artistic matter. The photos from autoblog.com did not reveal any thing that could say even the interior parts is covered with pens, but according to the news, they are hoping that the door pockets are installed with protector.

A Stolen ‘40 Plymouth sedan turns up on e-bay

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 1:24 am

Ebay.com has been in the web market for many years. They don’t sell car parts like GMC air filter recharge kit but there are cars that turn up in the site. However, it is not very common to meet an old car without a title so buyers should be extremely careful because this can be a fraud. Make sure you checked the seller before you engage in the bidding process. There are several fakers in the net and is better for buyers to take extra precaution before deciding to purchase a product.

Just like what happened to a police man who bought the 1940 Plymouth sedan aging 21 years. But turns out that the car was originally reported as a stolen car. Take a look at the picture. It shows that the car seemed to have undergone several undesirable pimping sessions which didn’t necessarily altered its appearance for the better. The car was stolen way back in August 1986. However, it was recently purchased by a buyer in Sheridan, Oregon who actually bought a car without a title. The man was unaware that this car was stolen. He paid for the old car but it was returned to its original owner Bruce Rask.

According to Trooper Jeff Dickerson, a Oregon State Police, "Never buy a motor vehicle from a third party without a title to the car. If the seller is unable to provide a title to the vehicle, there is a very good chance the seller is not authorized to be making the sale at all. You could end up losing what you paid for the vehicle if it can be shown it actually belongs to someone else."

Shaq’s Stretched Lamborghini

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 8:54 am

I was busy looking for GMC Sonoma parts when I came across Shaquille O’Niel’s special ride. Months ago, Shaq was reported to have bought a Lamborghini. But the baskeball star’s 7′ 1", 350 lb body frame sure would have been a problem buying this car. Do you think a typical-sized Lamborghini would accommodate a monster size man like Shaq? No, I don’t think so. If he purchased other larger SUVs or limousines, he might get himself in those cars but a Lamboghini, never.

This National Basketball Association player has been receiving multiple awards. Aside from that, Shaq has also recorded album and also several movies. But if you are as famous and as rich as the basketball player, I am sure getting your car pimped is so easy. So Shaq wants a Lamborghini, he’ll get it. The popular basketball star bought a Lamborghini Gallardo and had it stretched a full twelve inches to accomodate him.

Gaffoglio, was the one to make it possible. He was the supplier to companies like Boeing Company as well as PPG Aerospace Glass, where he worked as mechanic trying to build everything as a work of art. He added a few strives to keep the looks of the car while he meticulously revamped the center part of the Lambo so as for Shaq to fit in.

Now we can say that Shaq is quite happy.

Can Somebody Pimp this Exotic Car

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 7:37 am

Take a look at that. It definitely needs a lot of revamping. But will a new bumper do? You certainly can’t put a GMC bumper bracket there, that’s one ruined exotic car there.

Now, what’s the real story behind this exotic car turned wreck? Autoblog.com reports that the owner of this particular car may be an over adrenaline-filled driver who crashed his car on the road. Of course, anyone can do it especially if the car is a muscle car, running on a top speed right? The norm on rich car owners is to play with their cars and here is the outcome. What a shame that some people who can afford buying supercars cannot actually handle these beasts properly, and with respect, man. We just have to cringe everytime we read headlines like “another supercar crashes”.

In the UK, the lawmakers are embracing the idea of making a law that ties the weight of the owners’ car to its power. Institute of Advanced Motorists’ Motoring Trust also thinks of a better way to equip the owners of these exotic cars handling huge amount of powers. The testing includes positioning and cornering, safety drive, optimum road positioning and excellent observation. They are also testing these owners on how they manage to drive a car with large amount of horsepower. This also helps the owners to have the proper mind set when driving powerful supercars without crashing. I’m sure this can be a great help avoiding the crashes that make such a waste of these great beasts.

Artistic Beetles Make Over

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 1:47 am

Chan Fatt Choon, a 45-year old business man is maybe a huge fan of the MTV’s “Pimp My Ride”. This is maybe the reason why he turned his 1970 Volkswagen Beetle into an artwork. Johor is a well known car enthusiast who had a great contribution to this display of Beetle cars made into forms of art. The pimping starts from its engine althrough out the body kits and interiors parts — all these Beetles were given revamps. He even had his own version of his own logo fitted on the VW logo combined with the beetle insect and his own plate tag JK 75. it was all printed on gold plates on the cars back seat. Nope, no GMC multi rib belt there.

“It took me some time and way more than RM50,000 to do it up but it doesn’t matter, “ Chan said. He added, “It is my passion. I love the Beetle cars.” He was actually from Ipoh to where he recently showcased his own masterpiece which was a bright orange Karnival Volkswagen 2007 Perak shown in the Dataran Ipoh.

Chan said he spent RM10,000 back in 1990 when he first bought the purple car which didn’t had any thing like the high end fittings it has today.

He also added, “I changed everything. The engine is now 1,600cc, I changed the sound system and fitted power amps and equalizers, sprayed the entire body orange, fitted in a tool box with special tools from Germany on the hood and the seats, meters and rims are all from Porsche.”

These Beetles are heading to carnivals and people cannot just control their fascination, taking pictures and videos of the unique Beetle parade.

Chan isn’t surprised. He has already received 20 trophies and earned more publicity because of his cars. He even had interviews on TV and was even featured in several car magazines. Last 2000, he received the Best of the Best prize given by the national car championship. It was impressive that out of 500 cars, he won the contest.

He also received the Best Modified category ranking first on the first 400 cars running for the title during the carnival. The show was organized by Perak Volkswagen Association with special participation of the Beetle owners in Malaysia and Singapore.

A Hotdog Car in Chicago

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 12:01 am

Take a look at that. I feel hungry every time I see this vehicle. Imagine a huge sausage filling on a foot long bun. I am drooling right now, honest. This vehicle was spotted by autoblog.com and I guess think can be an entry to this site. I’ve seen some of these figures but I have never seen a vehicle like this. What if a car part dealer does the same? I mean like Subaru oxygen sensor dealer to pimp their rides to something like this. Do you think it will be effective?

Anyway, his vehicle was seen rolling on streets of Chicago. Since Chicago people loves hotdogs, the fast food owner decided to build a vehicle like this. Chicago people are really crazy over it unless of course if it violated the street law.

I fell a little sad knowing that this car was caught parking at a no-parking zone in Michigan Avenue and was ticketed because of the parking violation. The vehicle was measured 27 foot long which is why I guess the vehicle deserves to be tagged as a foot-long vehicle. The driver of the iconic foot-long truck however returned to the vehicle just in time to save the car from being included to the city’s tow truck.

According to the spokesperson for Kraft Sydney Lindner said, "even if you’re driving a company vehicle that’s shaped like a giant hot dog," the illegal parking is still against the policy of the company. She told the Associated Press earlier this day.
