ZAP (OTC BB:ZAAP.OB), an alternative transportation pioneer, has been leading in leading in advanced transportation technologies since 1994, delivering more than 100,000 vehicles to consumers in more than 75 countries. Later, it introduced complete electric bicycles under its POWERBIKE and ElectriCruizer brands.

During late ‘90s, it has been known for popularizing electric scooters with its ZAPPY folding electric scooter. Then it has patented its three-wheeled ZAPPY3, incorporating an innovative wheel-motor design. Recently, from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, it has been allowed a patent and trademark for the ZAP XEBRA city-speed electric car and truck.

To continue the quest for advancement, ZAP has designed the XEBRA as a unique and new class of vehicle that could quickly provide for the growing demand of gas-free motorized transportation. The company claims that the XEBRA is the first practical and cost-effective electric vehicle.

ZAP Chairman Gary Starr said, “Electric cars are different from gas, so we decided to take a different approach to make something available today.” “Users buy them as a second car, but they usually become the first car while the gas car is used occasionally,” he added.

The XEBRA was designed as a city vehicle to expand the place for electric transportation, noted Starr. ZAP says that all kinds of customers, from families to fleets of car-buyers, have started plugging into the XEBRA. In fact, parents in Oregon recently bought one for their 16-year-old, first-time driver. Betsy form Salem, Orgen, said, “My favorite thing about the car is that I never have to ask my parents for gas money.”

Currently, ZAP is eager in developing highway capable vehicles, buses and trucks in collaboration with Youngman Automotive Group in China. They have an automotive business plan for marketing fuel-efficient vehicle technologies to auto dealerships and distributors worldwide, under the ZAP brand.

ZAP got a pretty nice line-up of plans. Well, since they all seem to be relatively providing advancement, I would be hoping for the success of the current and future plans, just like I wished for the success in selling my cousin’s spare Dodge dash cover.
