Metal-packed Car

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 7:05 am

Take a look at this thing! It has been covered by metals and foils, that on the first sight I almost didn’t figure out it is a car. I could not even determine what model it is. But, perhaps, it is not an Acura CL, as there are no traces of Acura CL auto body parts as you might observe.

Speaking about Acura CL… It is a model of automobile created by the Acura brand of Honda, from 1997 to 1999, and from 2001 to 2003. People often thought that it has been a replacement for the Acura Legend coupe, a model that disappeared from Acura’s line-up when the sedan version was renamed as the Acura RL. By fact, the coupe was replaced by the Acura CL for the 1997 model year.

The Acura CL has been considered as one of Acura’s finest vehicles due to its balance of luxury and sport. But… that’s not the main point here. We should have been thinking of what model the car in the picture above is. Unfortunately, we could barely do that, unless we remove all those stuffs around it. Another problem is that I (or even most of you) do not know where that car is. Ohhh… The thing is that nashnut.com didn’t even provide a brief description of the car. They just pointed out that it is nothing more than one of the vehicles displayed at the Art Car Show in Houston, Texas.

Well, maybe all we could do is just appreciate this piece of art. Besides, I bet you will agree with me that this art car is impressive. Perhaps, the designer might have had spend hours just to build it as it is in the picture. And, by the way, the monster-like thing on top looks good.

A Boat Car?

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 1:45 am

I feel good today, seems like something great is about to happen. But, while waiting for it, let me first share with you another unique car…

Well… It barely looks like an actual car, yet it is. In fact, it confused me on the first look, as the wheels are not obvious. It just happened that the picture was one in a set of “They are just cars… Only a little bit weird” photos in linkinn.com, so I figured out that it is a car.

I thought it is the what-so-called “car-boat”. But, upon searching through the net, specifically wikipedia.org, a car-boat is “a boat or marine vessel built from, or powered by, an automobile chassis and engine”, indefinite whether it also sustained with an Acura ball joint replacement or any other kind of auto parts found in a typical car. They have been recently well-known in the United States media for being the vehicle ridden by a number of Cubans who have attempted to immigrate to the United States by water. Car-boat built from a taxi has been termed as taxi-boat… So, the one in the picture is not a car-boat. Besides, a boat is a watercraft designed to float and provide transport over “water” and not in the land… Unfortunately, I found none regarding a boat-car. But, if there is, maybe it is a car that is powered by a boat chassis and engine, don’t you think? (LOL)

Anyways… perhaps, it no longer works as a boat. So, the owner might have thought of just making it a car instead of leaving it to the junk.

An RV with a Garage

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 3:17 am

This is something that would actually take you away from your online search of SUV car cover!

If you love traveling, I suppose you would also love having a recreational vehicle (RV), especially the one that could give you the same or even better luxury than from your own house. Volkner Mobile, a German RV manufacturer, could give you that.

Volkner Mobile has created a luxury RV that has a slide-out garage nestled between the front and rear axles. It allows discriminating campers to safely store their low profile car while on the road. The slide-out platform can accommodate any vehicle that measures up to five meters in length, such as the BMW Z4, MINI Cooper convertible, Mercedes-Benz SLK and Smart Roadster.

Some of you might have seen it before. With a truly unique selling point, Volkner Mobile brought this luxurious mobile home on display at the International Caravan Fair in Dusseldorf, Germany, back in September of last year.

This colossal German mobile home comes with a palatial dining, a fully fitted kitchen area, a large living room, a bathroom and sleeping quarters and it can be trimmed to order.

Buyers are offered the choice of either a rear-engined Volvo or Mercedes-Benz bus chassis.

With all the mod cons of 21st century living, having it would make you say “a home away home”. It would be perfect for running about whilst this holiday. But, for sure, this kind of mobile home is expensive, leaving it just a dream for me right now.

Fly … with a Car?

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 10:03 am

A car resembling a Delta carrier in the color scheme used from 2000 to 2007… Should I say “It is cool” or “It is weird”? Hmmm… Maybe, you guys will decide on that. Anyways, it is pretty eye-catching, don’t you think? And, I acknowledge the great effort of the designer.

Well, for those who were not yet able to ride a Delta plane, you might have the excitement to ride this car. Besides, renting one for an hour wouldn’t cost as much as riding the actual plane. You just have to imagine you are buckled up on one of the seats inside one of the planes of Delta Air Lines, Inc., a major United States airline headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia that operates an expansive domestic and international network, spanning North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and the Caribbean. And, you could choose from more than 332 destinations in 57 countries, across 5 continents! Weow! … That’s exciting! … But, don’t get too hooked… Remember, it is a car. (LOL) And, you won’t be able to fly or perhaps travel the whole world with it.

By the way, talking about the car… Since there is no detail in the site where I found the picture, what model do you think it is? Personally, I guess it is a BMW Mini. If only I will have the chance to see a BMW ignition switch inside; maybe, it will be confirmed. Unfortunately, I can’t get my hands on it, considering that I don’t know where the car is. In case you have an exact guess other than mine, feel free to post it here (through a comment).

That’s it for today. I still have to settle some things in preparation for the holiday. So, catch ‘ya some other time!

The Ford Fab 1 from the ‘Thunderbirds’

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 2:35 am

A movie watched last night by the kids at home has triggered my interest to feature a fabulous and amazing car for today… No, it is not a Rolls-Royce as you might think, nor a Mazda with Mazda air intake, but a Ford. Yeah… A Ford… Ford Fab 1 specifically.

The ‘Thunderbirds’ was a big budget, live-action family movie based on the cult ‘Thunderbirds’ TV show. Ford Motor Co. has supported the production of the film through providing assistance in the development of Lady Penelope Creighton-Ward’s Fab 1 limousine.

The Ford Fab 1 is actually a stunning pink, 27 feet long, six-wheel/bubble canopy vehicle. It features clear Ford Thunderbird design cues. In the movie, it can transform between car jet plane and hydrofoil, making it amazing for the kids watching.

According to Tim Bevan, ‘Thunderbirds’ producer, “FAB 1 provides the first glimpse into the new-look ‘Thunderbirds’ movie. We hope to realize fully the genius of the original series and bring it to like for an entirely new generation worldwide.”

Ford Design Europe has led the design of the Fab 1 vehicle. It has also delivered a number of ‘virtual’ concept vehicles for the movie. The Ford EX concept and the Focus C-MAX have been prominently featured in some scenes in the film.

At the making and prior to the global release of the movie, Chris Bird, Director of Design for Ford of Europe, said, “For our design team, it was essential that the new Fab 1 captured the essence of the original – its size, power and sheer presence… The people that have worked on this car were already fans, so we hope the end result will please ‘Thunderbirds’ purists as well as the new generations of movie goers who will see it in action on-screen.”

In the real world, the best thing about the Ford Fab 1 is that it works. However, it isn’t that driver-friendly as far as you might expect. Considering the length comparable to a three-story building, the car is hard to drive on traffic and isn’t even convenient to steer. You will also notice that this pink vehicle does not have side mirrors, making it far from being an ideal road vehicle.

Painted Lamborghini

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 3:20 am

Here is something that would absolutely take your full attention even if you are so much busy looking for Volvo sway bar link online.

Lately, I haven’t had enough spare time to check some unique cars around. But as I browsed the web a few hours ago, I found this picture from linkinn.com. Amazed with the paint work, I was not able to resist featuring it here today.

For enthusiasts out there, you might have the exact guess that this car is a Larborghini, most probably a Lamborghini Gallardo, powered with a Lamborghini V10, has a displacement of 4,961 cu. cm. and with a 309 km/h (192 mph) of torque.

Larborghini sports cars are all already attractive. But, the paint work with the car above has doubled its attractiveness. It is then made not just sportier, but wild, in the sense that the paint has been well detailed.

Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., or Lamborghini, is a well known Italian manufacturer of high performance sports cars (supercar). It is based in the small Italian village of Sant’Agata Bolognese, near Bologna. Now, it is a subsidiary of German car manufacturer Audi AG, making it also a subsidiary of Volkswagen. The brand’s latest model is the Laborghini Revention, one of the fastest and most expensive Italian supercars in the world.

Canis Lupus Familiaris

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 6:30 am

“Canis lupus familiaris” car! … I mean a “dog” car, resembling a dog’s head. But, could anyone tell me what breed is it? I love dogs, but I’m not well versed regarding the breeds…

Oh well… Maybe it’s a mogrel, a dog that does not belong to a specific breed, most probably a mixture of more than two in variant percentages. But, that is just in my own perception.

I found the picture from nashnut.com just recently, though it is not actually newly posted… Anyways, look at it. The car looks nice and entertaining, right? It seems that the designer gave it so much effort. I wonder what material they used. Sand? Peebles? Beads? Hmmm… Whatever it is, I salute the makers for the clean touch and wonderful concept.

Obviously, it is not a Jeep Wrangler, considering that there is no trace of exterior Jeep Wrangler parts… Yeah… You are right; it is a Volkswagen Beetle, the one that seems to be so easy for anyone to transform into a creative piece of something (LOL). There were several art car shows held year before the one in Houston, Texas. And it seems like the Volkswagen Beetle always appear as part of the show dressed up in something really unique and creative which in my opinion simply shows the versatility of this remarkable German creation.

Well, that’s it for now.

A Shoe Car

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 3:02 am

Yesterday, I found a photo collection of cool and cute shoe-formed cars in linkinn.com after I finished searching for Jeep hard top online. The picture on top is actually just one of them and I just took it for a post since it seems to be the most unique among the cars featured. My only problem is that I can’t figure out what kind of shoe exactly the car resembles. But, I suppose it is more of an athletic type of shoe, right?

Looking at the picture, the car seems to have adequate ventilation. For that, maybe I won’t stink (ewww..imagining the smell of athlete’s foot) when driving it for hours. (LOL)

Since there have been no details in the site, I have wondered about where the car could be found… if it can be purchased… if it runs great… or if I would be allowed to at least drive it for a test.

I have tried searching for some details for the past few minutes but the time seems inadequate to find an interesting description or specification of shoe cars. Maybe, I’ll give it some other time later and just update you guys. And in case I won’t be able to find one, I might just end up making my own shoe car and give it a description (LOL). But considering the time, effort, and money I think i’ll just skip the idea altogether (LOL).

For the meantime, check out this site for the other photos.

Rare Bugatti Royale goes to the Classic Motor Show

Filed under: Uncategorized - BigPimple @ 2:58 am

Days have gone so fast that I haven’t quite noticed searching for something as great as these online husky floor mats has consumed much of my time. I almost forgot that the Classic Motor Show has taken place last Friday (November 9) at the NEC. The last thing I knew was that the Donington Collection’s Bugatti Royale will be displayed as a star attraction in the UK’s biggest and best classic motoring extravaganza.

The Bugatti Royale in the picture above is one of the only six original cars in the world. It took 11,000 hours and costs £1.6 million to be build. All the original cars were sold at a price ranging from £5.5 million to about $17 million.

Though the prototype has been destroyed in an accident in 1931, all the six production Royales still exist. Each of them has different body, with some had been rebodied several times. The Royale has been built between 1929 and 1933 and only three of them were sold to external customers with the rest kept inside the company.

Along with the big price is a big space. The Bugatti Royale has an overall length of 21 feet and wide of 7 feet with a wheelbase measuring 169.3 inches. It is powered by a 12.7 liter eight cylinder engine and weighs more than 7,000 pounds.

According to Classic & Sports Car’s publishing director Stuart Forrest prior to the event last week, “The car is so big that it requires a specialist moving company even to bring it into the hall… We’ve driven the car in our latest issue, and we were delighted to have the opportunity to work with the Donington Collection, where the car can normally be seen, to display it on our stand at the Classic Motor Show. It is an incredible car to see, and there are so few of these vehicles in the world that the chance to do so at the NEC this weekend is not to be missed.” Unfortunately, I really did miss it. I will just then wish for another show that will feature it again.
